A big batch of costume designs by John Mollo for STAR WARS and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

We often kind of take them for granted, but costumes have to be designed, made, tailored: they have to enhance a character without drawing too much attention to themselves (unless that’s the intention of course). John Mollo’s designs were all very effective, and tasteful, modest but memorable, making him just one of the great minds at work behind the scenes of Star Wars.
