Reblogging again because I spent almost a year being friends with someone who refused time and time again to apologize for hurting me time and time again because, in her words, “I’m not apologizing when I don’t think i did anything wrong.”
The truth here is painful. The truth hits too close to home.
intent and content are not the same thing. Just because you didn’t mean to hurt someone doesn’t mean you didn’t. It doesn’t make you a bad person to accidentally hurt someone. It makes you a bad person to refuse the acknowledgement of the hurt you’ve caused.
